Art has been something that I have always loved, even as a young girl. Throughout my schooling, I was always praised for my art. It was also my major in high school. As a teenager, I used to paint large seasonal murals on restaurant windows. This also led into designing posters for restaurants, and helped to pay for my college course that I took in business. I worked in an office environment for approximately 12 years but always stayed in touch with my art.
I married Todd Cotton in 1990 and some time after with his support began teaching acrylic painting. We enjoy raising our 2 sons, Mitchell (13 years old) and Brett (12 year old).

Seven years ago we purchased our Century Farm House in Nestleton, Ontario. The house was rented for 30 years and needless to say, very worn and abused. It was split into two apartments so we stored most of our belongings, lived in the upstairs apartment and totally gutted the entire main floor. We removed unsafe porches and replaced these with new ones, removed old structures and added a large garage and mudroom. Adding a 5 window dormer to the attic when replacing the roof allowed for my large studio and of course family room for the boy's. We now run and sell hay from this 63 acre farm as well as custom beef and poultry. Of course I have some decorative Roosters and hens roaming the grounds. This whole endeavour has been a huge accomplishment that we are very proud of.

Art has played a huge role in my life, from painting windows to walls to canvas or wood! Not only do I achieve personal satisfaction from my works, but also I create to bring joy to others! May the years to come continue to be enhanced by more of my artist endeavors!
Best Regards,
Deb Cotton
